Patterns & Belts

Pacific Sun Taekwondo (TKD) patterns are a series of techniques performed systematically against an imaginary opponent or opponents. While performing these patterns, students are applying and practising the techniques taught in class while improving the flexibility of body and spirit through strength control, balance, breath control, and concentration.

The belt colours used in Pacific Sun Taekwondo are symbolic of each level of training. Each level (Kup), are taught a different pattern (hyung).

Of course it doesn't just stop when you get to Black Belt. There are many things to learn which can only be taught once you have built the foundations. Receiving your Black Belt is not the end of your training, it is only the beginning.
